Hike & Seek Christian Nature Study Lesson Plans | Homeschool Science Lessons for Grades K–3
Hike & Seek is a faith-friendly Christian nature study and homeschool science lesson plan series created to accompany the Hike & Seek video missions inside Mission Quest Academy. Designed for homeschool science, outdoor learning, Bible connections, character development, and early elementary classroom support, these ready-to-use Mission Guides help Kindergarten through 3rd grade learners explore animals, plants, habitats, and ecosystems while seeing God’s wisdom and care throughout creation.
Each lesson pairs with a Hike & Seek mission featuring Captain Chuck Hawkins and includes guided learning steps, interactive checkpoints, discussion prompts, simple assessment ideas, vocabulary support, and optional outdoor observation activities. Students explore topics such as sandhill cranes, reptiles and amphibians, salamanders, wood ducks, foxes, coyotes, tulips, honeybees, pollination, backyard birds, sand dunes, tiger beetles, toads, snakes, and owls—while growing in curiosity, careful observation, thankfulness, stewardship, and respect for God’s created world.
